Butterscotch Sauce
Ingredients:
For roughly 1 cup finished sauce
- 1/4 Cup Butter
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Whipping Cream
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1-1 1/2 Teaspoons Vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Melt the butter in a medium sauce pan over medium heat.
- Add the sugar, whipping cream and salt. Bring to just the boil and continue to heat and whisk boiling mixture for 5 minutes.
- Remove sauce from heat, stir in vanilla. Whisk again to combine evenly.
- Transfer to a container with a lid or a jar and chill completely.
- Heat lightly in a microwave to soften and serve just warm over ice cream or any dessert.
